Limerick Physical and Sensory Respite

Cairdeas is a physical and sensory respite service. The service provides respite breaks to people with a physical and sensory disability and is based on a social model of support, responding to the individual needs of the guests. The service is available to any person, male or female, with a physical and/or sensory disability who resides in the Mid-West Area and is between the ages of 18 and 65 years old at the time of referral. The philosophy of our centre-based services is to provide a home from home setting, making it an enjoyable and relaxed time for the individual in an environment where the family can be confident that their family member’s needs are being well catered for. Our service is designed to meet individual needs. We therefore consider people individually and can accommodate people with varying levels of support needs. A respite break may be any length of time but usually a 5 day or 7 day stay depending on the individual’s needs.
