Supported by JP Morgan, and run by National Learning Network, Phibsboro, Ag Obair Le Chéile is a new and exciting course offering personalised support to people in Dublin who are finding it difficult to get and keep a job. The training project helps the long-term unemployed, refugees, and people with disabilities to get work has seen some participants land jobs with major employers. Participants spend 60% of their time in work placements developing the skills and experience they needed to get and keep a job and get to explore working in:
• Catering/Hospitality
• Information Communication Technology
• Construction
Participants on the course spend up to the three days a week getting real-life work experience in the chosen area of their choice.
Who is Ag Obair Le Chéile for?
• Early school leavers
• Long-term unemployed
• Refugees with permission to work in Ireland
• Others marginalised and finding it difficult to get and keep a job.
The course provides career planning, work experience, community participation, Workplace safety and one practical module in a participants chosen area of interest (e.g. Woodwork, ECDL, etc.)
