National Learning Network – Bray
At NLN in Bray we provide a range of free, certified training courses to people who have had an accident, illness, injury or have a disability and extra support needs.
Our courses are tailored to each student’s needs, to help them to build their confidence while getting practical job-seeking skills to help them get a job or go on to further training.
Below are a variety of different courses provided at Bray which can lead to QQI awards from Level 3 up to 5.

This dynamic foundation programme is crafted for young adults with mild learning difficulties, offering an enriching pathway for school leavers and young people eager to take the next step in their lives. With courses available in Bray and Stillorgan, this programme blends practical learning with personal development, opening up exciting opportunities for growth and independence.
Through a balanced mix of social skills, personal development, career exploration, and hands-on vocational training, students will have the chance to explore a variety of job roles and work environments. This experience helps them discover their unique strengths and make informed decisions about their future education or career path.
The programme also provides tailored support for literacy and numeracy, ensuring each student’s needs are met at their own pace. Real-world learning opportunities within the local community help students apply the skills they’ve gained, empowering them to become active citizens and take meaningful steps towards living independently.

Employer Based Training – Job-seeking
This training programme provides high-quality on the job training to assist students to learn the skills they need to get and keep a job.
It combines classroom training and an employer-based training placement every week, to get real life training and experience in a job that the student wants. We work with local employers and international companies throughout Wicklow and Dublin. Students can move to employment at any time. The aim of the course is to train and help you move to employment when you find the right job.
Certification: QQI Level 4 Employment Skills (4M0857), QQI Level 5 Information Processing (5M2067).
Skills for Education and Employment
This training programme is aimed at people who want to progress to further education or enter (re-enter) the workforce and study in a supportive environment.
It allows students the opportunity to gain QQI Level 4 qualifications and a wide range of skills which are required to secure and maintain employment. This is done in an encouraging learning environment that promotes wellness.
Using a combination of accredited and non-accredited modules, as well as work placements, we offer a person centred approach that will support you in achieving your goals.
Training is delivered through a combination of centre-based, community-based and work-based learning. Students are required to attend the centre three days a week to complete training in the programme modules. The remainder of the week is spent completing assigned work including activities relating to community engagement and work placements.
On completion of the programme, students can gain a QQI level 4 major award in either Employment Skills or Retail Skills. This provides a pathway to further education at QQI level 5 or employment in a variety of areas.

Information Technology and Business Administration
This training programme provides a wide range of skills in computer applications that are frequently required for employment (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Sage) and also online and digital skills (cloud computing, web authoring, social media and digital marketing). Students can also complete ECDL and Advanced ECDL as options, if desired.
Certification: QQI Level 5 Information Processing (5M2067), N/A ECDL (None).
Vocational Skills Foundation
This training programme helps students learn the skills they need to find and keep a job. Using a combination of centre-based and work-based training, the student can explore the world of work and progression options for work or further education. Literacy and numeracy are integrated into all aspects of the programme.
