Directions
The aim of this programme is to provide students with Foundation Level Personal, Social and Work Related Skills enabling them to progress to greater levels of independence and community integration. The programme also aims to support and facilitate students to explore their occupational and vocational options and develop their potential skills to progress to Further Education, training or employment as appropriate.
Certification: QQI Level 3 Employability Skills (3M0935), QQI Level 2 General Learning (P2GL0), QQI Level 1 General Learning (P1GL0).
Introductory Skills Training
The programme is designed to enable the students to develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to make realistic vocational choices for training, or employment, based on their own needs and strengths. Students will use a range of personal effectiveness and self-advocacy skills which will enable them to be assertive, to understand rights and make informed decisions.
Certification: QQI Level 3 Employability Skills (3M0935), QQI Level 3 General Learning (3M0874).
Focus
Focus is a community based rehabilitative training programme for people experiencing mental health challenges. The programme aims to enhance their physical and mental well-being through personal development, community integration and vocational orientation. The course provides students with the skills necessary to enable them to gain greater independence and social integration and the confidence to plan ahead to further education, training and employment.
Certification: QQI Level 3 Employability Skills (3M0935).
Applied Information Technology
This programme is designed to enable students to develop the knowledge, skills and attributes necessary to obtain and retain employment in the private or public sector in an office environment or to progress to further training and/or education.
Certification: QQI Level 3 Business Administration (5M2468), QQI Level 5 Tourism with Business (5M5011), QQI Level 4 ICDL / MOS (N/A).
IT by Blended Learning
The course aims to equip students with the skills and competencies in Information Technology needed to obtain employment or access further training. Supports are available including regular online meetings from the Instructor and regular centre meetings with fellow students. Employment placements form part of the programme. Skills are acquired in your own home on equipment supplied by the centre.
Certification: QQI Level 4 Office Skills (4M2070), QQI Level 4 ICDL / MOS (N/A).
Sporting Chance
This programme is designed to enable students to build a career as future coaches, leaders and managers in the sports and leisure industry. It has been specifically developed to assist students in gaining employment in the sports and leisure industry, or progressing on to further training and education in this field.
Certification: QQI Level 5 Sport, Recreation & Exercise (5M5146)
Construction Skills
Construction Skills is a centre based programme which aims to give students knowledge, skills and competencies in the area of construction. The course focuses on the areas of bricklaying, carpentry, basic plumbing, painting /decorating while also having the opportunity to achieve a level 3 qualification. The Construction Skills course also provides an opportunity to progress to skill specific apprenticeship programmes with Kerry Education and Training Board. Duration: Up to 2 years.
Core Modules include: Construction Skills, Painting and Decorating, Woodwork, Work Experience, Application of Number, Functional Mathematics, Communications, Personal & Interpersonal Skills, Computer Literacy, Word Processing, Spreadsheets, Internet Skills, Health & Safety Awareness, Safe Pass.
Non-Certified Modules include: Induction, Health & Safety, Plastering, Brick and Blocklaying, Floor and Wall Tiling, Personal Development, Countdown to the Job, Work Placement, Literacy & Numeracy Supports

Catering
The catering course gives you knowledge, skills and competence in food production and cooking. The training is delivered in a fully operational kitchen where students develop their skills, learn the theory behind practices and are assessed on an ongoing basis.
Certification: City & Guilds Diploma in Food Production and Cooking (7132-06)
Employer Based Training
Employer Based Training allows students to gain practical skills with a host company in their chosen field. The program combines 3 days of on-the-job training with 2 days of in-centre training each week. An Employer Based Training instructor supports both the student and the employer throughout the process. Students select a vocational training area that interests them, and the instructor finds a suitable host company placement within the identified vocational area and locality. Employer Based Training with Retail Skills, provides hands-on experience in a retail environment and enhancing employability through real-world practice. Students will develop essential skills such as customer service, sales techniques, and inventory management.
