Our courses are tailored to each student’s needs, to help them to build their confidence while getting practical job-seeking skills to help them get a job or go on to further training.

Fresh Start

The programme is designed for people who would like an opportunity to make a new beginning and start a new career after a period out of the workforce. It provides learners with an opportunity to explore employment and education opportunities. Students progress through the programme at a pace which is suited to their individual abilities.

Skills are acquired using a variety of teaching and learning methods and students are encouraged to work towards achieving a range of QQI modules.

Certification: QQI Level 3 Employability Skills (3M0935).

Advance

The Advance course is designed to give students an opportunity to explore personal, social and vocational skills at a pace suited to their individual needs. 

The programme equips students with Level 3 personal, social and work-related skills.  Students will progress to greater levels of independence, manage health and well-being.  It gives students a choice for them to participate in workplaces and society, and progress on to further education. It can help to boost self-confidence and improve social skills, enabling you to mix with other people and make new friends. 

Certification: QQI Level 3 Employability Skills (3M0935)

IT and Office Skills

The IT & Office Skills course has been designed to give participants an opportunity to gain skills that will enable them to secure employment in an administration job or to move on to third level education. Participants will work towards achieving a QQI Level 4 Major Award in Office Skills. This may include the completion of the ICDL (International Computer Driving Licence) for those participants who do not already have one.

Students progress through the programme at a pace which is suited to their individual needs and abilities. Students’ progress will be planned with each individual through the Individual Action Planning (IAP) and monthly review processes. Skills needed in the workplace are acquired through a combination of practical demonstration, instruction, supervised practice, etc.

Certification: QQI Level 4 Office Skills (4M2070).

Fast Track to Employment

Fast Track to Employment is a course which will help you prepare for employment through the delivery of a number of modules that will help you set realistic work based goals.

These include: Career Planning, Work Experience, Communications, Workplace Safety and Information Technology.

The modules in addition to providing the level 4 certification, serve to help the student to identify a list of qualifications, skills and practical experiences required to help them secure their dream job. In

addition students take part in mock interviews which help them gain the confidence to apply for real jobs.

There is also opportunity to take part in work experience in order to help identify the type of employment the student is most suited to.

Certification: The programme offers QQI component certification at Level 4, leading to a major award in Employment Skills.

Access

This training programme is designed to offer learners an opportunity to explore personal, social and vocational skills and includes a high level of integration into the local community. Underpinning this programme is New Directions, a HSE person centred service for adults with disabilities.
