Our courses are tailored to each student’s needs, to help them to build their confidence while getting practical job-seeking skills to help them get a job or go on to further training.

Turas

The Turas programme is a two year rehabilitative training programme delivered by NLN and funded by the HSE.

It is designed to provide an opportunity to people who experience a high level of social and community isolation to examine the opportunity to develop personal and social skills, make independent choices, explore recreational, social and vocational opportunities and to make significant personal, health and social gains.

It offers a structured approach to developing confidence and life management skills to contribute to individual well-being. An essential component of the programme is personal development through social interaction and team membership.

Certification: QQI Level 2 General Learning (P2GLO), QQI Level 3 Employability Skills (3M0935), QQI Level 4 General Learning (4M2010), QQI Level 4 Employment Skills (4M0857), QQI Level 3 Information Communication Technologies (3M0877).

Fresh Start

This programme is designed for students who would like the opportunity to make a new beginning, build their confidence and explore career opportunities. It provides students with an environment to achieve greater levels of personal development, to develop IT and business skills and to explore employment or further education opportunities.

Students will be supported to progress to QQI Levels 4 & 5 courses locally or to further education or training of choice.

The programme also aims to provide students with the opportunity to address personal effectiveness and social skills issues.

Horticulture

This fantastic horticulture course allows students to experience a range of different roles within the Horticulture/Grounds Maintenance & Vegetable Production sectors. It allows students to develop the skills required to get a job within the industry or to progress to further training/education.

Certification: QQI Level 4 Horticulture (4M1994).

Catering Multi Skills

This course provides students with the skills they need to get a job in the hospitality sector or to progress to further training or education. Knowledge, aptitudes and skills are acquired through a combination of practical demonstration and instruction, supervised practice, talks, guest speakers, etc.

Certification: QQI Level 4 Catering Support (4M2805)

Employer Based Training

Employer Based Training supports students to acquire practical skills with a company in an area of their choice.
The course is a combination of on-the-job and in-centre training 60% on-the-job and 40% in-centre. The Employer Based Training instructor supports both the student and the employer. Students choose a training area that interests and suits them and the Employer Based Training instructor finds a suitable company to accommodate them in their locality.
