At NLN in Kilkenny we provide a range of free courses to people who have had an accident, illness, injury or have a disability and extra support needs.
Our courses are tailored to each student’s needs, to help them to build their confidence while getting practical job-seeking skills to help them get a job or go on to further training.

Career Paths
A personal, social and employment skills course. The programme offers students the opportunity to achieve a Level 4 Major Award Pathways to Employment (General Learning) 4M2010 . Each student is given the opportunity to participate in a Work Placement throughout the duration of the programme. Students develop skills in the areas of Communications, Functional Mathematics, Information Technology Skills, Personal Effectiveness and Tourism and Trade.
Certification: QQI Level 4 General Learning Award (4M2010).
Access
This rehabilitative training course aims to facilitate students to sample a range of rehabilitative and occupational options and to develop the skills, knowledge, confidence and resources to access employment, further training and options in the wider community.
Certification: QQI Level 2 & 3 Employability Skills (3M0935).
Evolve
Evolve is a flexible and personalised bridging and transition service, which aims to support you to progress your education, employment or life plan, develop valued social roles, expand your natural support network and develop sustainable and lasting connections within your community.
Programme Details
Connecting you to your community is a central aspect to Evolve. Wherever possible Evolve seeks to connect you to the supports, resources, experiences and opportunities available to you within your local community.
Eligibility
The Evolve programme considers applicants who have an intellectual disability and/or a diagnosis of Autism and; are referred by the Health Service Executive (HSE). Applicants referred to a HSE funded programme must be over 18.
Evolve is informed and guided by the HSE’s New Directions Policy and the Interim Standards for New Directions.
