National Learning Network – Ennis
At NLN in Ennis we provide a range of free courses to people who have had an accident, illness, injury or have a disability and extra support needs.
Our range of courses recognise that people will be coming to education and employment training from a number of different starting points. Our courses are tailored to each student’s needs, to help them to build their confidence while getting practical job-seeking skills to help them get a job or go on to further training.

Retail and Digital Skills
The Retail and Digital Skills programme support students to explore their career opportunities and is designed to help them get and keep a job. The programme offers students the opportunity to achieve a Level 4 Major Award in General Learning and a Level 4 in Retail Skills. Each student will be given the opportunity to participate in work experience throughout the duration of the programme.

Career Start
This course provides students with personal, social and work-related skills that will help them to identify further education or employment goals. Ideally suited to school leavers or early school leavers with extra support needs, this course supports students to identify their strengths and goals for their future. Training is tailored to meet each student’s individual needs with a strong focus on strengthening confidence, teamwork, work experience and social skills.
Students may progress to other programmes in our Clare or Limerick campus. Students may also achieve a place with further education colleges or secure employment on completion of this programme.
We work closely with employers and local businesses and our network of community partners ensures that our students will have access to work experience placements and are well equipped with the skills required for future employment.

Employer Based Training
If you are ready to work, our team will help get you prepared through our Employer Based Training course. This course supports students to acquire practical skills with a host company in the area of their choice. Students choose a work experience training area that interests and suits them and our experienced instructor finds a suitable company to provide them with a work experience placement. The course consists of three days on-the-job training and two days in-centre studying work related modules.
