Our courses are tailored to each student’s needs, to help them to build their confidence while getting practical job-seeking skills to help them get a job or go on to further training.

Access

This training programme is designed to offer students an opportunity to explore personal, social and vocational skills and includes a high level of integration into the local community. Underpinning this programme is New Directions, a HSE person centred service for adults with disabilities. Students are supported and given an opportunity to achieve QQI Level 3 Certification leading to a Major Award in Employability Skills (as appropriate).

Fresh Start

This programme is designed for students who would like the opportunity to make a new beginning, build their confidence and explore career opportunities. It provides students with an environment to achieve greater levels of personal development, to develop IT and business skills and to explore employment or further education opportunities. Students will be supported in progressing to QQI Levels 4 & 5 courses locally or to further education or training of choice. The programme also aims to provide students with the opportunity to address personal effectiveness and social skills issues.

Fast Track to Employment

This programme is designed to provide training in a company-based setting for students with disabilities and/or extra support needs.

The programme aims to support students to identify a specific skills area and to get a job in their chosen skills area or to move on to further education or training. The programme offers QQI component certification at Level 4, leading to a major award in Employment Skills.

Certification: QQI Level 4 Employment Skills (4M0857).

IT with Office Skills

The IT & Office / Business Skills course has been designed to give students an opportunity to gain skills that will enable them to get an admin job or to move on to third level education.

Students will work towards achieving a QQI Level 5 Major Award in Business. This may include the completion of the ECDL for those students who do not already have one.

Students progress through the programme at a pace which is suited to their individual needs and abilities. Students’ progress will be planned with each individual through the Individual Action Planning (IAP) and monthly review processes. Skills needed in the workplace are acquired through a combination of practical demonstration, instruction, supervised practice, etc.

Certification: QQI Level 5 Office Administration (5M1997).

Pathways to Employment

A personal, social and employment skills course. The programme enables students to explore their career opportunities and is designed to help them get and keep a job. Each student is given the opportunity to participate in a work placement throughout the duration of the programme.
