Butterfly Tales by NLN Navan

Students from National Learning Network Navan have written a new book to raise awareness of mental health issues

Talented students of the Freshstart course at National Learning Network Navan have authored a new book as part of the Amber Flag initiative for Pieta House. The launch of ‘Butterfly Tales’ took place in April 2023, with the book already proving a very popular resource for people’s mental wellbeing. The book comprises a selection of stories about mental health issues and offers advice and coping techniques for overcoming them. The book follows the stories of four characters with autism, ADHD, social anxiety and depression. One particular story is of a grasshopper mouse named Derek, who is autistic and experiences sensory overload. Derek uses the grounding method to help him overcome this.

Crafting this book is a brilliant achievement. Congratulations to the students for this endeavour, the team from National Learning Network Navan are very proud of your hard work which will be of great benefit to many readers.
