Are you interested in working in the busy, fast paced and ever-changing retail sector? This course will help you develop the skills and self confidence to ensure that you are ready to take on that challenge.

Each module has been carefully chosen to ensure that you are prepared with the necessary skillset to find employment in this area. Customer service, computer applications and retail sales are all modules valued by potential employers.

National Learning Network delivers a number of different courses at a variety of centres which lead to a QQI Major Award in Retail Skills.

These are flexible courses designed to enable students to develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to get and keep a job in the retail sector, for example a sales assistant role.

What does the course involve?

The courses are a mix of on-the-job and in-centre training. The course co-ordinator at each centre supports both the student and the employer.

Skills in the workplace are gained through a combination of practical demonstration, instruction and supervised practice. Students progress through the programme at a pace which is suited to their individual needs and abilities.
