Cara

Cara is a HSE funded programme that supports autistic students to enhance access and engagement in community activities, work experience, voluntary work, further or higher education and/or paid employment.

This flexible service is tailored to help each person identify their interests, strengths, needs and aspirations. Working on a one-to-one basis students put in place their own goals to meet the direction that they want to go in life, plus any help needed to get there.  This individualised highly responsive approach encourages students to engage in situations that are meaningful to them in their own communities, rather than being centre based. Cara offers support for up to three years.

Pathways

Pathways is a 2/3 year HSE funded course which aims to support participants to identify and achieve their personal goals, educational training needs and social skills to support them to achieve greater levels of independence to enhance participation in their own communities.

The course is a combination of person centered planning, workplace experiences, centre-based education and community participation.

Certification: The course gives options to achieve QQI certification at levels 2, 3 and 4.
