WALKERS' TESTIMONIALS

Joe Tierney is a seasoned walker, having participated in 11 walks for Rehab.

I would strongly recommend to anybody who feels they can make a difference to consider doing a Rehab walk. The sense of satisfaction they will receive from fundraising for a very good cause will be matched by the experience of sharing 10 days or so with fellow achievers in a country they may not otherwise visit.

While doing our bit for Rehab it was uplifting to be in the company of so many like-minded people. The group had a family atmosphere and I would strongly encourage any single people with reservations to consider doing it. The benefit you get continues long after the walk is over. There's a network of friends that builds up after each trip and for people who are considering something different it can have a life-changing effect.

Mary O'Donoghue is a seasoned walker, having completed 16 walks for Rehab spanning Australia, the Holy Land, Boston, Fatima, Brazil and Florida to name just a few.

The walk was something else. It was just tremendous. New Zealand had the most beautiful scenery I have ever seen. We saw a volcano - the boiling mud was bubbling up from the ground - and a geyser, which was spectacular. It was so green, like Ireland, and there are a lot of mountains. It was unreal to visualise the scenery from the Lord of the Rings films. The people there are so courteous - they were fascinated by the Irish.

The people on the walk were a great mixture, from 17 to 70. Everybody got on brilliantly. It was great fun. The area organiser pulled out all the stops. The accommodation was A1, as was the way we were looked after. Everything was laid on for us. It was an absolutely brilliant experience. I will always remember it.

I would recommend going on a walk to anybody. Go out there and to raise your money - it's well worth it. You enjoy yourself. I would go back. It was an experience never to be forgotten. Apart from anything else you will see something that you may not get the chance of seeing otherwise.
