ACTIVITIES AND DAY CARE DEPARTMENT

All residents and day care users are offered a selection of activities and outings. Every resident is visited by one of the activities staff at least once a day, either just to chat or to discuss a particular activity or outing request he or she may have.

The Department also operates a "Drop in Centre" where a cup of tea or coffee and a friendly chat are always available.

The activities available in the Centre include quizzes, indoor bowls, dominoes, card games, bingo, table tennis, computers, and a number of special interest groups. These include art, music, news and views, reminiscing and general chatting groups.

Outings include places of interest in East Sussex and Kent such as the Bentley Wild Fowl Trust, Hastings Old Town, Brighton, the Tenterden to Bodiam Railway, Barnsgate Manor, Beachy Head and the local shopping centre in Eastbourne. There are also a limited number of opportunities for residents to take part in carriage driving and trips for spectators can be arranged.
